Maybe you're thinking of the lyrics to Love's Unkind.
First verse:

Well I seem him every morning in the schoolyard 'Fore the school bell rings And when he passes in the hallway Well he doesn't seem to notice me
love's unkind?
Great song!
didn't she play a school teacher in one of her videos ? Unconditonal Love, maybe ? that was probably early 80's though....

It was quite a sad song and was not one of her biggest hits
Definatley in the mid to late 70's as I was still at school
I checked on wiki and I could not find it there
I'm wondering if it was a double a side and everyone played the other side
Have you looked at the lyrics for Love's Unkind- it's all about schoolgirl love

Was it Last Dance?
There are no double A sided Donna Summer hits either here or in the States. As previous posters have suggested, 'Love's Unkind' is the only one with reference to school unless you're looking for an album track or it isn't Donna at all. Try and rack your brain for some lyrics to give us a chance, I've been through my collection but nothing fits your criteria, sorry.

Oh thank you all
Perhaps I imagined it
Or maybe it wasn't even her at all
It was a long time ago
