Erin, Vodka, Murray, anyone else with a good knowledge of Edinburgh.....

Can somebody tell me if Whistle Binkies is still going.....
We haven't been for years, but we used to have some great nights/mornings in there.
I tried looking at their website the other day, but it seems like it hasn't been updated for three years.....

Well I'm in Suffolk, and I've not been to Edinburgh for several years, but I can tell you that Whistlebinkies is still going strong!

Hi bob - I knew Mick Broderick of the Whistlebinkies many years ago, sadly no longer with us, or as he would have said "Ah'm pan breid" - funniest guy I ever knew, hope you get some details of what you're looking for.

I think we might just take a few days off to have a look around all the old music venues we used to visit. The missus has never been to most of them, and I'd love to show her around.
The only thing is, I know I'll be a little bit sad when I find some of them are no longer there, like the Baggot Inn in Dublin, where my old band played one of their first gigs.....
But it's good to know that most of them are still going strong, and I hope some of the old characters are still propping up the bars.....

I've never heard of the place before now, but it sounds excellent - just the kind of thing we love.... looks like I'm about to book a long weekend in Edinburgh....

.....especially since Jools Holland set the place up - I had the good fortune to work with him in 1997.
