For those of you who remember Steeleye Span we are gong to see Maddie Prior and The Carnival Band tonight, its a Christmas tour they do most years. Always thought she had a lovely voice, realy looking forward to the show

was always fascinated by the Steeleye's drummer, Liam Genockey. Great drummer, but he always looked like he'd got his head on upside down.

I interviewd Maddy Prior for local radio back in the 1980's, she remians to this day the only musician I have ever seen who carries a handbag.

Steeleye Span were my number 1 favourites when I went through my folky phase. I can still sing along to all their albums. Maddy Prior was (is?) amazing.

didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Bangor ??..all around my hat... have an old vinyl LP somewhere !

Someone will jump on this murray - might as well be me - Fiddler's Dram sang 'The Day We Went To Bangor' - similar sound, but one-hit-wonders as opposed to Steeley's chart tenure.

Absolutely right Andy. In fact a fellow schoolteacher of mine was in that line-up. It was hot news at the school!
