Bruno Mars- Musical Genius

It's easy to knock many of today's singers and artists but I feel there many really talented acts out there.
Every time I hear a Bruno Mars track I'm really impressed, and I heard this Marry Me track yesterday.
He has the knack of making all his songs sound slightly familiar- e.g. this reminds me of Barry Blue (Dancing on A Saturday Night) and Locked Out of Heaven was a tribute to SOS by The Police.
I may post some more.

In addition to his own singles and albums he has written or produced many well known tracks for others over the last few years including Florida, Cee Lo Green (Forget You), BOB and even the 2010 World Cup song Wave Your Flag. His song Runaway Baby was popular on Strictly Come Dancing I recall.

I didn't like some of his songs to start with but they grow on you.

Love him! There hasn't been a song I have disliked and "Locked Out Of Heaven" is my fave at the mo.

It's too whishy washy, sickly sweet pop for me. I actually find most of his songs quite irritating (although not rage inducing like free form jazz) so it's a definte 'hell no!' to his musical genius from me... :c)
