How on earth does that happen? Do they allow people to buy 2/300 tickets at once (touts)? Surely their system cannot process thousands of credit card transactions in 15 mins!!!?

I'd have thought they could. It's the banks that like to take money out of one account and "lose it" for a few days before putting it into another.
>>>Surely their system cannot process thousands of credit card transactions in 15 mins

It would be really pathetic system if it couldn't!

Credit card transactions are purely numerical and thus require hardly any computer processing power. If you use a simple photo-editing program to tweak the brightness and contrast of a small photo on your computer (which involves some quite advanced algorithms) it would probably require vastly more computing power than processing 100,000 credit card transactions. You'd expect your computer to provide an instant response so I can't see why the much bigger computers handling credit card transactions should be expected to be any slower.

To me the biggest mystery isn't where all the tickets went to, it's why anyone should want to listen to that screeching, tuneless woman anyway! Perhaps there are people out there who'd pay to hear me scrape my fingernails down a blackboard?
Heard on the radio tonight tickets were being sold online for £1500

I'd have thought she'd charge that to do a pub gig

Buenchico, thanks for your informative answer. Screeching? Tuneless? Get your black (white) board out and start practicing. I'll buy 500 tickets!
We're so used to queueing that we struggle to understand the concept of us all being able to book at exactly the same time.
They can process 100s of thousands of transactions in a single second never mind 15 mins!.
I think four was the most one buyer could have.
How does the saying go? 'One man's meat is another man's poison' I personally think Kate Bush - Heathcliffe aside - has a beautiful voice, as proven on tracks such as Army Dreamers and Don't Give Up (with Peter Gabriel). Just one of many artists i wish i had seen.
I like her tracks too, but need the album cover to work out what the lyrics were supposed to be.
