The 1975 -Chocolate Guitar Effect?

Im learning to play the riff from the song chocolate by 1975 but it just doesnt sound the same without the right effect that seems to be used by a lot of inidie bands.

The only effect pedal is the zoom G1 and i cant find anything like it. How can i achieve a similar sound on my amp or alternative effects pedal?
