Who Have You Seen Play Live And Who Was The Best And Who

I was reading a recent post I made regards to Bob Dylan and one AB'er said that they had seen him recently and he should retire another disagreed which made me wonder if the person who disagreed had actually saw him live recently.
Who have you seen live were you so impressed did it send shivers all over you OR were you so disappointed that this is the only time you can talk about it.For me

Disappointed. Manic Street Preachers, Like pulling Teeth, laborious,boring,sterile oh I was so disappointed.I at least expected some balls some Rock and Roll or at least a little life .

Without a shadow of a doubt, Queen were the best gig i ever saw - twice. And, with the same degree of certainty, the worst i ever witnessed was Eric Clapton - he played guitar fairly well but his speech was slurred, obviously affected by whatever he was on at the time.

Never have made a point of going to live gigs but have seen a few along the way. The one that blew me away was Dr Feelgood back in their day, closely followed by Jamiroquai and The Jam. Dragged along to see John Mayall (I was very young) and Robert Palmer - they bored the pants off me.

We saw Elkie Brooks a while ago, she was amazing for 69.

I've seen Meatloaf 4 times - the second was when he was taken ill on stage and went straight off for heart surgery, the third was the consolation for half a show the previous time. Brilliant staging. However - the final one was in the old Wembley, and the show (IMO) wasn't up to scratch - the backing was so loud that you could barely hear him. I'd probably go again given half a chance, he does a great live show.

The other one more recently we both really enjoyed was Runrig - great set from a band which doesn't seem to get a lot of coverage outside Scotland, but are popular on the Continent.

...and Yes, in their original lineup, many years back, was brilliant.

I think the fact that Runrig lyrics are quite clearly anti English has a bearing on their popularity S of the border.

A while since I heard Runrig mentioned on here Boxy.

In my teens, I idolised Gene Pitney so seeing him live was a treat.

Also saw the Bee Gees, show was good the screaming audience another matter.

In his live shows he did play 'straight' inbetween the humorous pieces.

Roger Taylor twice truly awesome and Brian May Once, amongst many others always gutted that I never saw Queen live though.
