I'd written that ....

Name three songs you could die happy if you had written them because they are just that powerful - mine are:

1. Man Of The World - Fleetwood Mac

2.  If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot

3.

Off the top of my head :

1. War Pigs - Black Sabbath
2. Comfortably Numb - Pink Floyd
3. In My Life - The Beatles

These will change in the next 10 minutes probably.

This will probably change, as OBonio said, in the next 10 minutes, but right now it's:

Like a Rolling Stone: Bob Dylan

Light My Fire: The Doors

Let's Stay Together: Al Green

Not so much because they're powerful, just because I love the lyrics.

  1 - Helpless - Neil Young

2 - Out Of Season - The Icicle Works

3 - Train In Vain - The Clash

Just don't ask me tomorrow as the will have changed.

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd

Positively Fourth Street - Bob Dylan

With or Without You - U2

1) Only in Dreams - Weezer

2)Creep - Radiohead

3)Happy Birthday to you - ?

Then I would die happy after living in luxury all my life and knowing that my family would never have to worry about money.

1. F.e.a.r - Ian Brown

2. Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen

3. Wires - Athlete

1. spit in the rain - del amitri

2.dignity - deacon blue

3.forever young - bob dylan

oooh, good question :)  These are just personal favourites that are powerful because they mean something to me.

  1. It's Not - Aimee Mann
  2. Piece of My Heart - Janis Joplin
  3. Mr Jones - Counting Crows

3 of many musically epic faves off the top of my head:

1. One - Metallica

2. Kashmir - Led Zeppelin

3. Jacob's Ladder - Rush

Angel Flying too Close to the Ground - Willie Nelson

Dry Your Eyes - Mike Skinner/Streets

Fairytale of New York - Shane McGowan

Picking 3 songs is impossible.

but here goes.

1.londons calling - the clash

2.redemption song - bob marley

3.A change is gonna come - sam cooke.

Hey Jude- The Beatles

Shipbuilding- Elvis Costello/Robert Wyatt

Live Forever- Oasis

Here is three of mine!

1) Holding Back The Years :- Simply Red

2) Harvest Moon :- Neil Young

3) Just The Way You Are :- Barry White

1- Man on the Moon - REM

2- Got the love - Candi Staton

3-

Ooops, messed that up. Once again, my 3 songs i'd die happy knowing I had written

1 - MAN ON THE MOON - REM

2 - CANDI STATON - GOT THE LOVE

3 - EVERYBODY HURTS - REM

1) I'm with kags on With or Without You.

2) Brown-Eyed Girl - Van Morrison

3) The Way You Look Tonight

1.Agadoo

2.Where do you go to my lovely?

3.The Birdy Song

This definitely needs a modern(ish) rock input

Nobodies - Marilyn Manson (I know, but listen to it)

Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Kids Aren't Alright - The Offspring

For me I'd base it on there being something really original or some craft to the song (rather than it being a great 3 minute, 3 chord catchy tune).

1. Gimme Shelter - The Stones
2. Still Raining, Still Dreaming - Jimi Hendrix
3. God Only Knows - The Beach Boys

If we were to include classical music the list would be endless.

1. Bend Down Low - Paddy Casey

2. Songbird - Eva Cassidy

3. November Rain or Don't Cry - Guns 'n' Roses
