Does anybody know how much the album for Elton John's Yellow Brick Road would be worth now if the vinyl record is actually yellow?

I don't know how rare such a pressing is - best to get hold of a copy of 'Record Collector' magazine and mail or call a few dealers to get an idea. If you offer to sell it to them, and they offer anything like a good price, remember that as a general rule, they look to make 100% profit, so it could be worth twice what they offer you. Otherwise, stick it on Ebay, and see what comes in.

Hiya Andy

Thanks for this I will look into it

It all depends on the date of release (original pressing or re-released) the country of release (Australian and Japenese pressings are usually worth more) and the sleeve (tri-fold, gatefold or single cover) and of course the condition of the vinyl and cover.

I use http://eil.com/  as a very rough price guide to the highest you could expect to get (minus aprox 25%)

But at the end of the day vinyl collecting is so much easier since the internet arrived. It all depends on how much a buyer wants it and what they are prepared to pay for it.

I sold the Who L/P "Who Sell Out" for 58.00 (I paid 1 at a boot sale) and I recently spent 50.00 on an "Ash" Fan Club only 7" Glitter single.

Thanks for this - this is very informative.

http://tinyurl.com/8jgxj shows what's on eBay at the moment. Not a large amount, but collectable items are worth whatever somebody's prepared to pay.

According to the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide 2006 the yellow vinyl version is worth 20 quid in MINT condition. There's approx three copies listed on eBay at the moment ranging from 3 quid to 10 quid. Don't buy that Porsche yet !
