the point I am trying to make is that I could sit and listen which I have done to the fore mentioned artists but the present day does nothing for me.
I have spent the evening listening to greats like Ray Charles , Willie Nelson , Nat King Cole , Solomon Burke and Leonard Cohen Jim Reeves . Great stuff .
Tambourine I listened to Johnny Mathis,it was great, I then clicked the end of the video and nat king cole came up singing unforgettable,I know it’s a matter of individual taste but I would say nat king coles version does it for me.cheers and thanks for your input.
Tilly2 thanks for the video of Diana krall singing Danny boy,it was lovely, I still prefer Judith Durham of the seekers version,,,as I said we all have our preferences.XX
People generally ‘tune into’ the music of their youth as it resonates with them at this particularly heady time in their lives - first love, first heartbreak, first job, nights out, holidays, which most songs are about.
Before he died aged 85, my uncle used to listen to ALL types of music, including Radio 1x. He loved music. Absolutely loved it. Nothing was out of bounds for him. But it depends on the trends! What was once the norm is now out of date. Tastes change, as mentioned earlier.
Yes Danny 13 you’re right I just put some in to get things going , Matt Monro Jim reeves mario Lanza, bobby Darin, one of my wife’s favourite Sammy Davis jnr and what about someone who seems to be forgotten Dave King?
