The Platters?
I agree. Each to their own and that is what art in any form is about.
Who sang what?

I'm 67 and frankly I wouldn't want to listen to any of them at any time, 70's, 80's and very early 90's for me

In the 70's we had soul, glam rock, a short lived 50's revival, disco, punk, funk, prog rock, heavy metal, new wave and the beginnings of the new romantics movement. A fantastic time for music that has never been bettered.

For some reason I thought you liked the Platters.
Getting a bit DO LALY; in my dotage hope you are well.
I was right too with The Platters
Big band sounds do it for me. Glenn Miller, Andrew Sisters etc etc. Music whereby the lyrics can be understood.
Todays young British girls tend to imitate a nasal American twang which I find irritating.I hate screeching gospel type divas as well.
I prefer to understand the lyrics rather than drug induced nonsense.
Of course that carp is like "the emperors clothes IMHO but there are some who will,no doubt, state that a puff of white powder up the snozzle induces creativity. Lol
As a kid the above list were the spawn of the devil. As I've got older I can appreciate Sinatra and Nat King Cole, especially Let There Be Love which includes a fantastic piano solo by George Shearing.
Have a listen to this one, Jordy. Do you like this?

Harry Connick has a remarkable voice but it's not to modern taste
Junior?
I listen to music that fits the mood I'm in , so it can range from soul to funk to techno and everything around and between.
