Never usually have the TV on during the day but we recorded this on Sky Arts, I've watched many documentaries about him but this was a truly in depth look into the great man's career, we have sat with a coffee and toasted crumpets on this cool, windy afternoon enjoying this, well worth a watch

I knew of his mafia connections but that's about it. I'm not a fan of his.
He was a big star and of his time. I wasn't of his time.
Much the same for me Tony, he was someone my Parents liked.
I never really was a fan.
Great stuff! Come on, bobbi, on your feet!!

My Aunt who is 94 now was a great fan, whilst my mother loved Tony Bennett. Personally I think there are better voices, but he certainly brought feeling into his songs.
Some sources say his 'Mafia Connections' were the reason for his success ! Record shops were simply 'ordered' to accept large stocks of his records , even though they knew they would never be able to sell them ! Record 'charts' were at that time based on sales to record shops, rather than actual public sale !
//even though they knew they would never be able to sell them !//

I don't think Sinatra did too badly, Eddie.
I wonder how many free concerts he did at ''Family'' parties.
