Give over, Roy (and pixie) a sweeping statement like 60s music was basic and me proving it wasn’t, isn’t picking up on a minor point! It was a silly statement by pixie. I could cite loads of examples of music from the 60s which wasn’t ‘basic’.
and please don't mention the bloody smiths, the most depressing band of all time, ie my girlfriends in a coma...
;0)
Didn't Killing in the Name of make a Christmas number 1? That's fairly heavily censored.
Ah, morrisey. Khandro’s hero.
heaven knows am misrable now youve said that Fender!
Girlfriend in a Coma is one of The Smiths' move upbeat records.
Zacs, just my opinion and a generalisation.... I once went to a 60s weekend in Butlins with load of people. Most of it was perfectly pleasant enough, but no real passion or energy there. Yes, there are some talented exceptions, but it's a very different type of music, from what we've had since.
sorry but the smiths...SU@KED
You must like This Charming Man fender
How soon is now to discuss totp trying to edit 90% of rap lyrics, if it was still on.
miserable uni students needed something to compare there misery to
while the rest partied..reminds of the 70's in certain schools err
It was a golden age for dance music. I loved it.
Basing your opinion on a weekend at Butlins is just plain daft.

It would be if that was it, zacs. Don't take it personally lol. I was brought up with constant music, including 60s. It just isn't so much to my taste. Even though he liked Nine Inch Nails, Maiden etc, my dad taught me to play 60s first, as it is technically basic.
RandyMarsh, morrisey the only guy who got paid for depressive lyrics and still thrives on it
Some of it is, true and pop music being in its infancy was basic r&r rhythms and melodies, but there are many many exceptions. Pink floyd’s early stuff, Hendrix, Deep Purple, king Crimson, to name but a few.
