RIP Mike - a big part of my growing up.
Very sad. I know they were a sort of artificial band but they were involved in some fantastic tunes. Used to watch there tV prog as a kid & loved the songs but never had a clue what was going on in the story or why the audience were laughing so loud at everything

They were only an artificial band initially Bob, and even then Nesmith was a musician before the band came together. Peter Took was also a fairly skilled guitarist.

They certainly surpassed their intended purpose as performers.
ah, the prefab four - though they started out as imitation Beatles they were very good, they had top songwriters, and they starred as Victor Mature's dandruff in Head

As I recall, he was very rich as his mother invented Tippex.

That is sad, i remember watching their TV series in the sixties it was so lighthearted and care free.
sad but not unexpected, ahh the free for all days youth, bicycles, monkey bars, skateboards the endless summer... r.i.p michael.

William, the show was a staple of summer holiday kids tv throughout my schooldays in the 70s and 80s. I have fond memories of it too.

A very talented man, a sad loss to music.
