70S Group….Name Please
There was a group in the 70s (or thereabouts) very like mud, showaddywaddy etc that was male but had a stunning black female singer. Can’t remember the name of the group. I do think that the lead singer was on keyboards and one of the male’s looked like he was mad as a box of frogs . Any ideas guys? Thank you

No….the lads were white and she was a stunning long legged black singer…one of the singers/musicians had a ‘mad’ stage persona, slightly bulging eyes…gave him a wild look. They were a bit teddy boyish….. watching Now70 in the hope they appear. Its driving me mad… all I can think of is Sparks…and they are nothing like them x
retrocop - // I thought you were describing the pianist from Sparks with the mad staring eyes. 'Town ain't Big enough for the Two of Us' //
I have fond memories of seeing the dynamic duo in the '70's, when Ron Mael's 'mad' persona was in full flow.
I enjoyed a Zoom interview with the duo last month, and Ron is as charming and erudite as could be wished for, nothing like his weird alter-ego.
The interview is available to read in Vive Le Rock Magazine - available in all good newsagents.
