Speedy Passport Service.

Less than a week ago, I applied for a new passport. I was nicely surprised when it turned up this morning after 6 days! A friend of my OH told us to expect at least 9 weeks. So pleased I done it on line, so much quicker and less hassle. Anyone else had good or bad experiences with getting new passports?

Mine came in around that time: and it was at what I'd assume to be a busier time of year as well.

I thought so. I realise not everyone may have the same experience. And of course these days you don't need to send your photos.

We had ours done in 2021 when the country was still in the throes of the pandemic. Expected the worst but our new passports were with us in seven days.

I sent my D/L to Swansea on line for renewal during the pandemic.It came back in a few days minus a category for me to drive the larger heavier motorhome. Hey Ho.

I went to the Post Office and they did everything; took a photo, filled everything in, charged me £10 extra and my new passport arrived days later.  Brilliant.

I've just realised today that I have to apply for mine to be renewed. It runs out in March, but I'm going away in January.

Not enough apparently.

Did you send the old one back at the same time, and did it come back to you (with the corner cut off) with the new one?

Renewed mine online last month. (Monday)

Had my new delivered on the Saturday.

Got my old one delivered 4 days later, with the corner cut off.

Yes sent my old one back last Friday. Haven't had it back yet. Having just read Sam's reply, should be back in a few days.

We're told it's supposed to be "dark blue" !!

That's good. Mine got there the next day, too. You should get your new passport by Wednesday. 😀
