Labour's New Towns plan, means home ownership ...is no longer a  pipe dream for millions of Brits, says Angela Rayner. The Deputy PM offered hope to .."Generation Rent"..and those forced to live with their parents  because they cannot afford their own home.It comes as Angela and Sir Keir Starmer begin to visit 100 potential sites for these New Towns to be built. A decision is expected to come from Angela Rayner within six months on which sites will be chosen and shovels will hit the dirt well before the next GE in 2029 which Labour are now clearing the way for.

Question Author

13.13 Highly misleading headline for that mentioned thread by the OP. Absolutely  unrecognisable head line.

any idea where these new towns will be? - just askin'

can't be arrised to look

//The Deputy PM offered hope to .."Generation Rent"..and those forced to live with their parents  because they cannot afford their own home.//

So how are they going to afford to live in these homes?

"shovels will hit the dirt well before the next GE in 2029", is this for the 1.5 million new homes they are building this parliament or is this in a different dream that they are having as your headline is not very clear.

"13.13 Highly misleading headline for that mentioned thread by the OP. Absolutely  unrecognisable head line."

It isn't if you properly examine the reason why the new homes are being built. But I don't suppose you have.

13:37 that would involve some sort of reasoning and comprehesion ability.

Gulliver, TTT's headline wasn't misleading - just the content of the OP.  So tell me how these people who are forced to live with their parents  because they cannot afford their own home are going to be able to afford to live in these new homes?  Did Angela explain that to you when you got this story from wherever you got it?

Question Author

I think this is a good move by Angela Rayner. Who is doing a grand job as Deputy PM .....especially coming from a working class background.  Bet Oliver Dowden is tearing his hair out .

You don't know then, gulliver.

//especially coming from a working class background//

What has that got to do with how good a job one is capable of doing?

(BTW - her "job" so far has mainly consisted of sound bites.)

Question Author

13.58 "So how are they going to afford to live in these new homes"   Don't you mean how are they going to afford to buy these new homes...N.

Yes, gulliver.  Did Angela tell you what's different about her plan?

He doesnt know.

A plank of the first order.

"Don't you mean how are they going to afford to buy these new homes"

If you like. So how are they going to do that, then?

Is the mere building of these homes going to make them affordable to somebody who cannot afford one at present?

Question Author

YMF 14.21 ..........."A plank of the first order"........... Have you forgotten what ...The Ghastly Lady Thatcher said about people who attack others. Yes that's it ..Not one single political argument left in them. Better get yourself back to the Tory school of radicalisation for a refresher course.OK! end of me old china🤣🤣

Ah well - at least I tried!  🤣

Didn't Margaret Thatcher also say "Labour-worshipping online trolls are definitely planks, plonkers and pillocks, drowning under the weight of their own gormlessness"?
