what kind of music is that exactly? I always thought they were just rockers, if you're looking for someone really depressing you could try Leonard Cohen, that guy sings the most mournful dirges I have ever heard in my life which is why I always leave the room when he comes on.
As an angst ridden youngster you couldn't beat The Smiths or better still Joy Division
You can't beat Radiohead to get you out of that happy mood. Except maybe some Nick Cave. But like froggequene suggests, Leonard Cohen is VERY depressing, and as such, should only be used by the terminally happy.
Try a bit of Nick Drake or as has already been mentioned Joy Division
Counting crows are the best

Thanks for all the imput! I am not trying to kill myself here or anything...it just seems like with fall here and the crisp air...music like this is great to walk around and listen to!
David Gray's pretty g'damn miserable.
The Sisters of Mercy used to get me in a 'down' mood, but in a great way if you know what I mean ;)
Elliott Smith's songs are pretty depressing (in a good way!) and the first two eels albums are pretty much all about cancer, suicide, funerals, mental illness, etc. Great stuff.
