Could it be "Mony Mony"? First recorded in the '60s by Tommy James and the Shondells, in the '80s it resurfaced in a popular cover by Billy Idol that got a lot of airplay.

Check out the lyrics on songlyrics.com - the Tommy James version doesn't have the "ride your pony" line, but the Billy Idol version does -
