Most importantly, 50% of the profit made will be donated to age concern

I find it uplifting to see so many elderly people enjoying themself and given a new lease of life and hope it will succeed in raising people's awareness about the UK's poor reputation in caring for our old folk (one of which I almost am!!!)
Did anybody see the documentary regarding this on BBC2 last night?

Well actually I have an 80 year old neighbour for whom I do a bit of shopping, pay bills etc ,I also do her hair and go in and chat to her....her carers don't have much time to actually interact with her although they look after her bodily needs. My 90 year old aunt keeps me on the hop too ! Mind you that one can hop faster than I can sometimes !
And .... we have all answered the question.

Please don't assume that we on here don't do anything for the older generation. It's not necessary to work for Age Concern to be of help to the elderly - in fact I was unhappy at their lack of concern when I desperately needed help with my my mum but that's a different topic. Where I live I'm surrounded by the 75+'s & sometimes it's the blind leading the blind but I try to do my best.....
Whoa joe, I certainly help the aged, as did my mother and my sister, we clean, we wash them and do their shopping and when they cannot help themselves we cook for them. And we do it all for free!! Admittedly this island is very slow tohelp the aged as they are used to families doing it. So many of us over here do it, willingly and gladly. It's not all about self, self self !!
The song is great when sung by The Who but the oldies version is rubbish, they are not funny at all and I find it painful to watch / listen to.
I'm sure they are having a super time and their message is certainly very commendable but they could surely do better than that shambles.
I loved the Skinnerettes on Frank Skinners show though, now that's what oldies playing music should be like.

Shehe, can I just ask why you assume those who find it a bit pants dont interact with the older ones? since I gave up work a couple of months ago, I started seeing a lot more of my 90 year old granny and 2 to 3 days a week, I walk her down to the community centre for dinner and card games and the like. I used to go back to hers and do some gardening but I got invited to stay once and I do everytime now. Sometimes I just take some nail files and clippers and do nails constantly for 2 hours after dinner.
in my opinion it's only funny for a minute, then a bit embarrasing. But, would we rather have some 'get up and go' in us if we make 80, or sit in an armchair somewhere.
they'll get to No1, so good luck to them.
I guess the real thing is that it publicises that there is life after 60.
Thumbs up from me.

I think its terrific, good for them, it shows they haven't given up on life, wonderful.
In the local sheltered accomodation, we have a chap whose almost 103, uses a Zimmer, but still does his own shopping, I go there once a week, and like nothing better than to listen to his stories of his youth and war, .
if there's one thing thats true, if we live long enough, we'll all be the ages of these budding rock stars, so all power to them.
