I simply cannot believe anyone would even post such a question. Stone Roses debut album is regularly voted the best album of all time, by the record buying public of today, not by some old fella still going on about some Deep Purple album or other.

Without breaking into a sweat I could reel off about 20 albums in pop, rock, blues, soul that would make their offering seem very tame in comparison.

SFT, The poll that i refer to is anNME poll carried out about Two years ago, and i know either Q or Vox did a similar poll about Three years ago, with the same results. But as previously stated, it is down to personal taste. (p.s. Not many people know what a plamf is, so try not to blow my cover again, cheers)

The Sone Roses are about as over rated as the Beatles. They were original and brilliant (in MY opinion). Who do you rate then buttons???

Im sorry, but never NEVER take anything that NME says literally. Recently they classed Muse's sound as progressive rock!!!! Come on. Any person with a whiff of musical knowledge could easily dissolve that statement in a second......but im not that man

Del, as I said before, and only REALLY realised after posting my first posting, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I would be the first to admit that i am maybe a little oveprotective of the Roses, as they were the first band who's music i did truly love, So lets just agree to disagree, It really is all down to personal taste, And Del, How do you think We'll Do this season???

Oh dear buttons,i think you've lost the plot here.Not only are the stone roses one of the best british bands ever,but they have alot to do with what you are listening to today.THey are on a smaller scale to the beatles as far as they inspired hundreds of bands to start up,although liam gallagher adores the beatles,it was watching ian brown perform tha inspired him to sing.There is not enough roses played if you ask me.
