Difference of opinion as my books say 1942 (same date, different year). Later tonight I will try and remember to dig out my cd by him and check if it says the right year there. Born Desmond Dacris in Kingston, Jamaica. (The two books I have were both published by Guinness, so they would be in agreement.

Sorry to do this to you, but the sleevenote on the cd dont give a date of birth, but does say he was 15 in 1962. That of course makes him born maybe in 1947.
