An article from the 3rd Sep 1981 edition of the Ashburton Guardian describes Fiona as a 7-year-old; likewise a Christchurch Press interview from 1990 was printed 1 month before her 16th birthday - these point to her year of birth as 1974.

Thanks Kempie, and thanks for the link to the appropriare articles which I found very interesting.
I had the pleasure of meeting Fiona recently and have been arguing with my wife ever since about her age!
My guess was a little younger than 33. I had put her at no more than 30, so my wife wins this one!
