As someone who cannot live without music it doesn't even bear thinking about, does it? Music is everywhere, even in the natural world, birds and whales singing, grasshoppers chirriping and so forth. I know I'm digressing a bit, but it reminds me of a book called 'The Silent Spring' which is very very depressing. I'm going to play some music now and cheer myself up!!

If you were stuck on a hypothetical desert island with loads of spare time, you could make loads of musical things out of branches, shells, bangy things, hosepipes, the kitchen sink, twangy bits of string, etc., or you could brew a magic potion using local poisonous thingies and cast a magic spell to transsubstantiate a millipede into a grand piano.
