Was Billy Currie (the Ultravox keyboard and violin player) in Tubeway Army? The guy in front of Gary Numan in the photo on page 48 of the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles looks like him.

Billy Currie was never a member of Tubeway Army. His first known and signed band was the original Ultravox, with John Foxx, in the mid 1970s. The original Tubeway Army line-up was Gary Numan, Paul Gardiner, and Jess Lidyard, Gary's uncle. The 'lookalike' my well be Paul Gardiner who died of a heroin overdose, possibly deliberate, in 1984.
Billie Currie appears in the video for cars and did violin on a couple of tracks on pleasure principle.
