Is the tune at the start of the film by Durutti Column? its intsrumental guitar and sounds like it could be.

It certainly is, and well spotted! The piece is "Requiem Again" from the "Vini Reilly " album. Although it's not on the soundtrack album, it is credited in the movie end credits. And if you're interested, there's a "Best Of" due out at some stage this month.

Cheers, lookslikemik! i am interested, i really like a couple of vini's tunes, especially otis, but i've found it tricky to track down albums. i'll be first in the queue when it comes out.

Glad to be of service. Just FYI, Amazon list the Best OF as being out on October 4. They also have a good stock of the Factory Once reissue series, usually 8 or 9 quid a pop. And the "Someone Else's Party" album is his best for many years.
