Er, that doesn't appear to be a question, so I'm not sure how to answer it. Other than,of course, to say that Dire Straits are possibly the greatest 'mainstream' band of all time ;-)
(With every other band, there are always several 'duff' tracks on any album. Dire Straits provided quality music throughout).

Anyway, I am not a big fan of DS, but (dunno if Mark Knopfler did this on his own or with DS) the theme tune to Local Hero still makes me blub.

Fantastic band, Mark Knopfler must be right up there with the greatest guitarists of all time. My personal favourite is Brothers In Arms :-)
