Theme tune to Ed

who sings the theme tune to ED on channel 4 (usually on at 0915). Some American band.

I just watched a re-run of Ed the other night and remembered how I always wanted to know who the band were that sung the title track to the series.
Next Year by the The Foo's is played at the end of each episode, but who recorded the song at the start? If I remember correctly it starts something like 'When its my moment in the sun.. Oh how happy I will be'.
If anyone knows please put me out of my misery.
