For subject matter I would say Eric Clapton beyond a doubt but from a personal point of view (from my dim and distant youth and having to leave a boyfriend whilst I was posted away with the forces) Phil Collins and Against All Odds :o(

Touch me in the morning by diana ross.
Purely nostalgic reasons as it reminds me of the last night me and my boyfriend 20 odd yrs ago spent together before leaving for uni!!!
Still a sad song though.

Lol leggy
i still say James Blunt makes the saddest songs.
Debelah Morgan - It's not Over.

I don't need to listen to it leggy - I agree with you, but there are a lot of his that fit. Those two, we all fall in love sometimes and curtains, candle in the wind (both), song for guy, etc etc.

I just said the first I thought of, which was the last one of his I heard.

I just thought of another - Ronan Keating If Tomorrow Never Comes - I personally want Day Dream Believer at my funeral if anyone asks LOL
WiseOldSage!!! Shame on you, if you must listen to If Tomorrow Never Comes, please please do yourself a favour and listen to the superb original by Garth Brookes. Ronan's whimpy version doesn't even compare.

Tomorrow never comes!

That record is a rip off of Elvis's "Good year for the roses" whoever sings it.

That's costello, BTW, not the other bloke
"Honey" by Bobby Goldsboro - it would draw tears from a glass eye!
Sorry seems to be the hardest word

E. John Esq
