My wife had just graduated that day and we had dragged a load of our mates out to see them play. Needless to say, a lot of new T? fans were born that night. And the Maxwell Twins didn't fight with each other for a whole two hours!
The worst gig I have ever seen was Terrorvision in Edinburgh during their Shaving Peaches tour. It was so awful that I spent most of the gig in a corner getting drunk (mind you my gf at the time had dumped me just after we had got there).....
my best is probably B B King at the albert hall a few years ago, so good we named our dog lucille after his guitar.

The finest gig I've attended was the Pixies at the University of East Anglia in 1989 - the atmosphere really was electric that night. Finally caught up with them last year in Manchester but it wasn't quite the same.
I'll also give an honourable mention to My Bloody Valentine for a spine-chilling performance. Always seemed like we were just a hair's-breadth away from everything kicking off.
Joy Division - good call, sprogglin. Wouldn't have minded seeing the Stranglers with Hugh Cornwell.
