its D12 (eminems band) and i think its called Bugs (or Bugz) 97, cos it's all about his friend Bugz
The song title is Abraham, Martin and John by Dion.  It basically paid tribute to Lincoln, Luther King and F. Kennedy respectively
It's definitely Abraham, Martin and John, but the best known version, and the one I suspect you're thinking of paulhy4, is by Marvin Gaye.
I agree with littleoldme

littleoldme was spot on marvin gayes was the best version.thanks, paul
as far as i am concerned there is NO other version. marvin gaye's finest hour most think. but, try to catch his dream of a lifetime album, and try to ignore the shivers down your spine...
Although he's not mentioned in the title, it's also about Bobby Kennedy.
Yes definately Marvin Gaye - as far as I know there has been no cover version done by anyone.  Tragic that what he sang about actually happened, as he did die young! x
Also a US hit version from 1971 by Tom Clay with news reports of the actual assassinations in the background.
