I have gone as far as nailing down a piece of corrugated iron that flaps around on a shed adjoining the house and have undertaken a modification to enable me to close the barn doors to keep our alpacas, horses and goat safe and out of the wind. We have many trees on a virtual cliff face to the rear of us and if they blow down they will land on our house from quite a height.

I always have supplies of candles, tinned food and long-life milk anyway, and my log fire is ready laid. But I did go into the garden and put an extra stake next to the new standard olive tree, tying them firmly with old stockings.
Yes, I have moved the settee further away from the fire. Well, if the chimney collapses...
Rubbish day tomorrow. Bins put out. Wonder where they will be by morning?
Daisy, the local news said they are not collecting dustbins in Sussex first thing tomorrow morning.
I have moved the car so it is away from any trees.

Too bad. Not going out in this to move them. Thanks for letting me know.
Which news was that?

First of all, cut some of the grass and plants from your garden. Sometimes, it depends on the storm level!
Hopefully the storm has passed by now. Ratter15 is still posting so survived it
