One of the two reasons Test Track and trace has failed was made very plain and simple by News night last night, glad they highlighted that. It appears that up to 70% of people in certain areas that applied for the so called support ( money) from the government, to enable them to isolate after testing positive was not granted. So what does that person do with no money to pay rent or mortgage, no money to pay gas/ elec, and more important no money to feed them or their kids if they have them. The free school meal has 4 bottles of water 2 carrots, 4 slices of cheese, tin of beans, half a pepper, and one loaf of bread. ?
So news night now knows that person who think they may have covid , will not go to be tested in fear of being told to stop at home, ( and they can't afford to) so they go to work. So what choice do they have? A big fat ZERO.

And I'm afraid that I was the same. I do feel a bit uneasy about that, but I reasoned that there was no realistic chance of me coming in contact with anyone for 15 minutes or more, and that consequently I'd be at risk of a "mistake" and only a mistake

The point is, that if you are on benefits, its not going to knock you're income for six, if you have to stay at home and isolate.

Don't forget though, that people might have to isolate several times. It's not only if you get Covid, but if you come into contact too. How many times would you get the £500, if you had to isolate once a month, say?

60% of Briton were supposed to download it for it to suppress spread (was the total ever achieved?).
From the app, they have data of the places that the most contacts with someone with covid occurs. If they have that data, they have never shared its findings (presuming they have looked at it.

Pixie I think you're stretching the point a little there @ 13.28. Lets put it like this, If I were a low paid shop worker now, bearing in mind I'm at home at the moment, and I doubt it will be the last time, fighting to get some money from my employer, I would be better of packing up work and going onto benefits.
