USA missile shield in Europe?

Do you agree that a missile shield should be placed in Europe to defend the American continent from roque missiles? Do you believe it is targetted for roque states or from Russia? Do you think that placing the missile interceptors in your country will make us a prime target in the event of any conflict and the weapons will be primed with computer codes for our destruction? Do you think this is a re-run of cold war baiting?

I think the US have remembered they are rubbish at fighting actual real wars. They much preferred the virtual war they fought with Russia for 40 years which meant they could spend obscene amounts of money on armourments and employ vast numbers of soldiers without any actual casualities to equipment or personnel.

After all this ghastliness in Afghanistan and Iraq, there is a nostalgism for the good old says of Cold War, Reds under the Bed and arms proliferation.

I notice the US is trying to make light of setting up interceptor missiles in Poland. They have obviously forgotten about the spat between JFK and Krushchev when Russia wanted to install missiles in Cuba. If the Russians had not backed down at the time WWIII was almost a certainty.

Now we have the reverse situation. Many can understand Russia's feelings for similar reasons and they should not be taken for granted.

Thanks to G Bush and Tony Blair the cold war has returned. Just like the soviet era Russian spyplanes are now operating off our coastline and had to be intercepted by Tornado fighters
Why don't the USA put the bl**dy Star War missiles on their own territory instead of basing them in Poland next door to Russia. Its intimidating! So much for the EU and NATO who were supposed to discuss the sitings beforehand but a private deal was made between Poland and the USA.
