i watch the tv and i shout at it.
her parents are so upset but fail to realise they are the core cause of this.
sorry but if theyd cared more about their 3 kids and less about food and drink maddy would be safe.
those are indesputable facts.
I hope shes found.

Before I go to bed....!

I have thought about this so much. My reaction was to stand up for the parents. They were foolish but would never ever deserve the loss of a child for their foolishness.

I thought about how I was as a parent and what I would do to get a little bit of peace, to eat my dinner without the kids at me.

I knew within seconds of thinking about it....and remembering holidays with them that I, although sometimes I wanted to!!, I could never leave them. I spent a week in majorca going to bed at 9pm with the kids while their Dad stayed up for a few. I wanted to stay up but they wanted to sleep.....so I slept with them.

I do have sympathy with them though. They could never have imagined this. Even the smallest thought of something happening to one of my kids would upset me.....they made a massive mistake. A thoughtless mistake, but try and imagine if one of yours went missing. Wrong or not....a broken heart is a broken heart. Their little girl is gone........

How do they live with themselves?

Isn't that punishment enough?

I think it is vaguely possible that the McCanns are actually aware of the fact that their actions contributed to their daughter's kidnapping and suspect they probably won't do it again. I also suspect that there's nothing that you can yell in capital letters that they haven't managed to work out for themselves and I'm quite sure that your sanctimonius rant is of precisely zero use in reversing time and stopping the kidnapper, nor any help in finding Maddie. But well done for making your clever, well observed points.

Still, perhaps I'm being harsh. Perhaps you really do care more about Maddie than her parents do?
steady on froog........ i feel the same way as you but lets not forget its every bodies right to have an opinion.
I have a son of my own and have left him ...only for a couple of minutes but as uummmm was saying i ve been fortunate enough to ' get away ' with it shall we say.
This is a truely sad and heartbreaking state of affairs and I cannot imagine what the parents are going through but the fact remains that their initial actions led to the disappearance of this little girl.
Hmmm, i know everyone blames the parents all the time, but how do you look after your kid 24 hours a day 7 days a week, without taking your eyes off them.
As i have said before, i blame society. People like you legend and other do-gooders who let the people that did this to her, roam around in society.
All paedofiles, etc should be kept away from children. There is no chance of re-habilitating people like this, and statistics have proven it.
If the jails are so full, then its about time they either built more jails or brought back the death sentence.
When i am in power i am going to have a prison island. Or somewhere in the arctic/antarctic. No comfy cells.
Prisons should be a punishment, and a detereent for people to return.
If you stopped it at the root cause and made people aware of the consequences then they would think twice before committing a serious offence.
My time in power will come...
MrBen, I was going to answer each of your points in turn but you know what I just cant be bothered, your points speak for themselves - flawed!

no you cant keep your eyes on your kids 24/7 but you can avoid going out for a meal and leaving them alone!!!
Put your self in this senario........... Your at a play ground with your best mate her kids and yours..........
lovely sunny day and the kids are playing just great together.
They want an icecream so , you trundle off to the ice cream van (which is only 50 yards away) telling the children to stay together ..of course.
when you get back one is missing , you look around expecting to see the little one amongst the sand as you have only been quite litterally two minutes.
No child......10 minutes later panic starts to set in............15 minutes......25 minutes you start to scream for some one to help you .....1 hour, the police are called....50 days later still no child.
If you can truley put yourself in this position and understand how can any body judge, we all have opinions on this but to have some empathy might be nice.
Its been announced this morning that there have been 5 possible sightings of her in Malta!

Surely they cant all be fake, lets just hope this is the turning point in the investigation.

Shes the important one in all of this.
well said redcrx, and thank god
Tattoo, the scenario you describe could happen and sadly, no doubt has but is it entirely the same to leave three children under the age of four alone in an unlocked apartment while you go out for a meal?
If you had a prison island there would be a way of the grubby, filthy ******** getting children in. It would be a disaster.

50 days, its a long time. I'm not raising my hopes any more. I think its very sad and the parents made an awful mistake. Every single one of us has made a mistake with our children but fortunately we don't all have to pay such a high price.

Hindsight is a brilliant tool. Its amazing what a false sense of security holidays bring to an environment.
While you enjoy a nice meal
no not really warpig, but just trying to make some understand how easy it is.
tell me if im wrong but i was under the assumption that they had a baby sitting service in the building?
what happened there?
They didn't use it !!!
tattoo yes there was a babysitting service but apparently they decided not to use it as they didn't want to leave their children with strangers.

The McCanns made a very grave error of judgement, of that there is no doubt, and they will suffer for it for the rest of their lives, my heart does truely go out to them but as for Madeline the thoughts are unbearable. I do sincerely hope that she is found and returned to her family but as time goes on, hope fades.
I was late for school the other day and my son snuck out the gates to come and see where I was. He was eager to get home because he had a birthday party to go to. He isnt 6 till next month. You can imagine my horror as I went to look for him in the classroom and all around the school but he was gone. A boy in the upper years bought him back from the shops.

In all honesty the teachers should have been keeping a better eye on him, I only arrived about 3 minutes after the bell had gone and when I first said he isnt here, they kind of ignored me. Im fortunate we live in a very community focused area where everyone knows everyone because Jay wandering 300 yards to the shop on his own could have been a totally different story and I would have never forgiven myself for being late.

They will punish themselves enough for this.
AAAHHH!
Then that puts a completely different shine on things.
Thats made my little story look completely irrelavent,
never mind takes me a while to catch up !!! :(
Sorry Tattoo, I meant to add, I do understand the point you were trying to make completely, lets not forget the 6 year old abducted from her bath recently, you cant have eyes in the back of your head, there is always some opportunist around, but you can aim to reduce the risk.
Sorry but I agree with Legend. No one has said anything about their foolish act. But if it has been a single parent who had left his or her kids on their own they would of got slated by the media! And the social services probably wud of been involved!!!
