so we are led to believe an arrest is due in britain very soon, and that over a million pounds has been donated to the mccann fund so far, as the mccanns have said they havent touched a penny of it just what will the money be used for if and when this person has been arrested, does anyone know??

To pay for their totally inappropriate extended stay in Portugal and trips around Europe? Perhaps it should go the "Better Parenting" society if there is one that teaches parents NOT to leave young children on their own or without a babysitter whilst they go out at night!

Hmmm, i think the money should go to building more specialist prisons to stop the sort of people who have abducted her from being in the public domain in the first place...

gina. They say that they haven't had a penny of it but 3-4 months away? ummm.... They're hardworking doctors aren't they so no doubt our taxes are indirectly paying for it as the NHS has probably kept them on full pay for doing nothing.

If there is an arrest it will probably be for trying to obtain the reward money by deception or something similar.

I agree with Gina, there is no proof that she has been abducted and her parents are probably on compassionate leave from work so taxpayers are paying anyway.

I think everybody is sick to death of this story now and about time the media dropped it. The police are idiots, they should've just locked up the parents from the start, the parents are as guilty as hell (think about it, if you'd really lost your child you'd be frantic but this pair were calm and lapping up publicity appearing on tv and in papers like celebrities).

I agree with Roy, Maddies mum has just been too calm about all this, I know as a mother I would be distraught if my child had gone missing, but she shows no emotion at all, they know more than they're letting on!

I don't want to labour the point, this subject has been done to death BUT..I read a witness account the other day which broke my heart.

Apparently the witness heard Maddie crying for 2 hours a couple of days before she disappeared. From 10.00pm until 11.45 (when the parents returned) she wailed for them. The thought of her being left alone every night of her holiday makes me want to weep.
