Is his posing with pints a pretence? I'm reminded of Wilson who smoked a pipe in public but really enjoyed fine cigars when out of the view of the press cameras.
Farage was a wealthy stock broker before he went into politics. Would he not be the type of chap who'd enjoy a fine claret rather than a gassy pint?

DFan, I have always suspected that many of the goodly unGodly who frequent R&S, and Naomi, in particular, are high ranking figures in the Church of England who uses AB to give free rein to their 'darker side'.
No evidence, of course, but the wide ranging knowledge of the Abrahamic Religions on display is surely grounds for suspicion.

Jomifl, your post at 17:42, Acts 9:18.
Only confirms my suspicions, deep Biblical knowledge and erudition amongst all of the goodly unGodly.
Am reading a good history/commentary on Mecca at the moment, Sandy, "Mecca: The Sacred City" by Ziauddin Sardar - part of the book is given over to how the Saudis are destroying all the ancient heritage around the Kaaba and with it the packaging of the Hadj meaning that Muslimdom is moving towards becoming a monotheistic religion rather than the pluralistic system that Mohammed created, largely through the different branches of his family and interpretations/Haddiths of his Quran.

Are the Shia and Sunni not even further apart than the Free Presbyterians and Catholics are here in my home town?
Could any amount of Saudi gold change that?
Pilgrimage (to Jerusalem) must have been a real money spinner. No wonder they copied that.

We're wayyy off topic here,Sandy. Still, it's your thread, you can do what you want. ;-)
It's the Christians in the 1st Crusade that put the skids under Jerusalem - up to that point it had been an open city for all religions....
Its rather 'posh' and 'with it' around here to drink beer -well real ale or whatever that ghastly stuff is that smells of day old bread and tastes vile is. If Farage really wants to court the common vote then he should fill up his glass with Lambrini or perhaps a nice can of Special Brew
LOL@ retro.
He should be drinking Diamond White super strength, and for the Scottish vote, Buckies. He could hardly fail to lose, especially if he were seen smoking rollies.
Do they still sell Diamond White ?-OMG I got so drunk on that stuff one night at Uni I've never been able to smell cider without wanting to vomit. I'm sure we used to mix it with some sort of pineapple stuff called castaway? We called the mixture 'blastaway'.
Question Author
Some were lucky having money to buy mixers for their cider. We had to hold our noses and drink it straight from the plastic bottle.
