Peter Mandelson
Just listened to this oleaginous creep dissembling about his working life for an hour. (R4)
For me, he sums up everything that was wrong with New Labour. How they were voted into power 3 times is a complete mystery to me.

It was because voters with Tory sympathies, but who were not dedicated to the Tory party, were persuaded that Labour now also fitted their requirements : whilst traditional Labour voters had nowhere else to go, except to parties with no chance of forming a government, or even getting an MP. Typical case of abandoning principles in order to gain power.

Mandleson, along with his mate Blair have made a very lucrative business of 'whitewashing' Despots. I am reading Blair Inc at the moment and my jaw drops on nearly every page. They are paid huge amounts of money to whitewash Despots. Blair has a lucrative contract with Kazahstan and introduced Mandy to share in this gokden egg. Meanwhile the country still shoots strikers and protestors and intimidates religious minorities.
