I trust that most here are aware of the petition. A chance for remainers to show that there is a lot of support for their position. Have you voted yet?

As I said earlier, I think the point of the petition is to demonstrate that the talk about 'the will of the people' is overblown.
Indeed

I will not be adding my name to what appears to be a long list of Traitors.

Baldric; if I had a glove handy I'd tap you lightly on the cheek and ask for satisfaction.
I have voted.
If you send me an email Clover I'll print off and send you an "I'm a proud traitor" t-shirt :)
Jim, you'll know this. What was the petition that had 800,000? 'signatures' from the Vatican City?

Atheist, I promise you would not be happy with the response if you did that.
Just had a reply from Camelot.

Dear Sir, We are awfully sorry that you are not happy with the outcome of last nights draw.

But face it, You lost.

So may I suggest that if you want to try and alter the outcome. Then maybe an online poll would be your best bet. As you will undoubtedly gain a lot of support from others who didn't win.

Yours sincerely

Temper, temper!
I'm not saying this petition is a fraud but one, Nigel Farage, has voted for it 740 times.
Only a total bonehead would believe it was genuine.
Alternatively, there’s always next week’s draw.

A “people’s draw” if you will.
I don't see any sources for Nigel Farage admitting to fraud.

I shouldn't be surprised if there were some bots involved, but equally I don't see why it's so shocking to learn that many Remain supporters are passionate about trying to stay in the EU -- and saying so in a petition.
I think in 2016 there was a petition about holding a second referendum under certain conditions -- perhaps that's the one you meant got 800k signatures from the Vatican?

Back then I think it was much easier to sign petitions on that site. These days you need a postcode and an email address, and have to confirm that the email address is in use, so it is at least a little harder to game the system. Using postcodes probably also helps because it would be impossible, for example, for any constituency to report more signatories than there are constituents. Moreover that same data allows you to check which regions are most commonly signing the petition, and lo and behold, they match pretty well remain-supporting areas in 2016.

In short, this petition is at least *mostly* genuine. I will be interested to see if it ever gets up to referendum levels, but it hardly needs to in order to matter.

No temper involved, totally emotionless response on my part.
I would play the Postcode lottery.

But only those in SW1A 0AA or SW1A 2LW win

Lol

That's nice to hear Baldric. Best wishes. And now I must leave, as I'm going out to dinner tonight.
Ps, I'm not saying the postcode lottery is fixed. lol
Maybe it means this lol

The 2016 petition supposedly had 70,000 or so signatures knocked off
