I trust that most here are aware of the petition. A chance for remainers to show that there is a lot of support for their position. Have you voted yet?

I think I will take up a new hobby - watch the numbers on the electric meter change ;-)

;-)
It's possible there really is that many bad losers trying to overturn the petition; but I just wonder how difficult it is to create a temporary e-mail account in the name of a local Brexiteer, vote in their name, confirm the vote/e-mail, rinse & repeat. Desperation encourages all sorts of activity, as can be seen by the recent demo.

If the counters think this petition demonstrates a nationwide rejection of the result of the referendum I suggest they keep counting. Only around 12 million more needed. Pathetic.
What have online petitions ever achieved? It's just jumped up twitter and facebook users with no idea of statistics, or any idea at all.. really.
So it's official then ," We ain't leaving on Friday "
It's not official until the necessary legislation to amend the definition of "exit day" is laid and passed. Presumably that will happen this week, but until then saying it's "official" is just plain wrong.
It's provided extra chat on a rarely mentioned topic in a somewhat underused sub-topic.

Can't be all bad. ;-)
Yes it has to be passed by 11pm Friday otherwise ...
Unless a batallion of AB stormtroopers take over the parliament building ...

On the point above about cheating, yes you can create new email addresses (why Brexiteers though?) and yes it only takes every single signee to do that once to double the numbers, but like I said before they do do “other checks” which ought to highlight suspicious activity.
The point of the petition I think is “don’t forget us”. It seemed to take off particularly after Theresa May’s claim apparently to be speaking for “all” the British people.
The sub topics should be done away with btw, or moved upto be on the same level as everything else.
I dare say it isn’t going to happen.
Maybe we need a petition :-)
It is hard to talk about democracy when almost 49% of the voters are opposed to the ideology

It makes any direction hard to go in due to the excess weight. Yes there is a 2% majority, but 2% isn't enough to sway the voices.

Those who are unhappy speak loudest.

If i go to a lovely restaurant, i have a nice time an take away memory's. I won't leave a review, i'd only leave a review if i had a bad time. Does my example make sense?
Those with strong opinions speak loudest, one way or another.
The ones with the strongest opinions on this issue probably have not changed their minds much. It’s that “middle third” that count: the ones a clever referendum campaign aims for.
49%
2%

What The Funicular is Spath talking about?
49 % and almost 49% are different.

Can't we have a meaningful vote from the public ?.
We've had one.

What i want, is a more informed vote.

Rubbish. If a general election, or any other vote, produced a similar outcome, the result would be honoured.
you're acting as if the result isn't being honoured. If it wasn't being honoured, over, done with, no more talk about brexit.

However 3 years on here we are, still going round the motions.

You want your cake, whilst you're eating it you're moaning about the flavour.

Get a grip of course brexit is happening, of course the vote is being honoured.
