I have voted in every General Election for the past sixty years and not once has my vote counted because of our first past the post system. Until we get proportional representation it seems I shall miss out - unless I move house ...... or party!

no they are just people at the end of the day.
vote with your conscience.
I'm going with democracy... as that has to be the biggest consideration, particularly this time. So Conservative.
No I know exactly who I will vote for
Question Author
Pixie374, that doesn't make that much sense. Democracy will determine what party takes government. Every person in the UK is part of democracy, having their vote, which is their say.

If you are referring to the referendum, the only party opposing article 50 is the Lib Dems. The only party adhering to further democratic processes is the Labour government. The party to uphold the result is the brexit party. The Conservative party seem to have a oven ready deal, but will they implement the deal they currently have? It seems uncertain.

What i'm saying is... It is not undemocratic to not vote conservative. So, it is not democratic to vote conservative.

Emmie, it's not about my conscience it's about what is the right thing to do, when part of me is uneducated on who to vote for, the other part is educated but conflicted?
Labour don't even know what they want. And yes, upholding the referendum has to be a priority for everyone, or there is no point in anyone ever voting again.
Go for the one you think will actually get things done. Words are free.
no one can tell you who to vote for but your strike me as being a Labour man through and through, going on your hatred for the Tories
Voted.
I would recommend you vote for labour, td. They change their minds nearly as often as you.
i have sent my postal vote in already..
Pixie - upholding the referendum result is definitely not a priority for me so please don't include me and millions of others in your "everyone"

"or there is no point in anyone ever voting again."

Well it's ironic that you feel that way, yet you're going to vote for a party who's MP's didn't want to uphold the public's vote.

But anyway, hypocrisy is rife during election time.

Not going to vote Labour. Not voting Tory.

It seems it's the Libs or Greens.
Question Author
Diddlydo, fact is pixie feels like voting for a party that didn't uphold the democratic election is some how democratic.

They have a deal but we're still in the EU, Pixie.
wasted vote then
Question Author
Emmie, no vote is wasted. If people had that mentality then we would have two political parties in the country. Fact is it's impossible for two political parties to represent the entire nation.
vote Labour, you know you want to, go on tomorrow and do it..
Question Author
I'd rather vote Labour than Conservative that is for absolute sure.
In truth, many dont have a preferred MP...however they know how to vote to help stop the undesirable ones getting in....damage limitation.
no, i dont like you
