Is It Not Time
Boris made an appearance / statement / address to the UK public.? After watching a doctor being interviewed last night on TV, and still having problems breathing, I do wonder now if he's avoiding the flak.

I really hope the next election won't be based on arguments about how many would have died under Labour, Greens, Liberals, SNP.
19.54 You judge a government on their actions, and many other things in a crisis like this. My view is that they have been very sloppy from the beginning. Has I've said on many occasions they had the best possible chance to get prepared than any other country, 3 plus months all in all, and did nothing until it hit us. Then they were running round like headless chickens, panic buying, ventilators and PPE, all to late. And I notice there's been very little talk of the ventilators we were promised, that seems to have been taken off the menu. Then we had talk of a bog standard breathing machine to be turned out at the rate of a thousand a day? I guess they've turned out to be has good as bike pump from Halfords.
At the moment no I can't list them all, all I'm interested in, is this country, Italy was warning us for many weeks, and so was Spain, and others that I may have missed. What I do know is every move this government has made, they say it's on scientists advice, so we know were that is leading, ministers want a way out as they always do, in other words pass the buck if you like on the backs of the scientists, to leave them in the clear.

I haven't read all of this but we seem to have moved on from your criticism of the PM for his failure to "address the nation."

some countries are solving their PPE shortages by buying Britain's, which the government apparently doesn't want.
///Millions of pieces of vital personal protective equipment (PPE) are being shipped from British warehouses to Germany, Spain and Italy despite severe shortages in the UK, The Telegraph can disclose.
Lorries are being packed with masks, respirators and other PPE kit before heading to supply hospitals in the EU, it has emerged.
On Monday night, UK firms said they had "no choice" but to keep selling the lifesaving gear abroad because their offers of help had been repeatedly ignored by the British Government.///

The man was only released from hospital last week after almost dying. I'd be interested to see how you might be ready to "address the nation" in similar circumstances (and what benefit the nation might gain from such an address anyway). I know you posted this under "politics". That was obviously an error as I imagine you meant to post it under "jokes".
20.27 With respect nj, it only moved on from that due to insults from other ABs, so have spent most of the time returning such. If Boris has got time to speak to Trump before his nation, there's something wrong. My IQ is very average compared to you, but I do know the difference between right and wrong. The average will encourage the insults back :0);) will give them something to do tonight.
All this moaning from left wingers about what the government has done wrong might be worth listening to if we didn't all know that..
a) Whatever they did it would still be wrong.
b) If it was Corbyn doing exactly the same things it would be exactly the right thing to do.
As it is it comes across as a bit pathetic.

Clearly teacake, you neither know, nor care about the PM's health and wellbeing. You seem interested only in his ability to make a speech, rather than him being fully recovered from a life threatening illness.
If he did too much too soon and somehow relapsed, you'd have the likes of Hancock and Gove leading the government for a lot longer.

// Almost dying? very ill yes. but we were told that he didn't need a ventilator. those are the ones that are nearly dying, and do.//
he didn't need a ventilator. those are the ones that are nearly dying, and do.// - the results from ventilation are unexpectedly much worse than thought
80% for the very old ( he isnt ) to around 50%
these are far worse than even those who just get it and dont need hospital (2%)
I think he is in Chequers because he is still not well ( = ill) but not dead. sort of hovering
I just hope there isnt an impt decision to take or we may all be screwed
