> "Boris sometimes seems affronted when criticised for what amounts to a gross failure of responsibility (and surprised at the same time that he was not appointed Captain of the School for next half): I think he honestly believes that it is churlish of us not to regard him as an exception, one who should be free of the network of obligation which binds everyone else.”
He has been this way his entire life. The Tories knew it when they made him leader. Several senior Tories warned against it before it happened.
Boris is an inveterate liar. He can't help himself. It's part of his nature. Public life or private life, it makes no difference.
If you're the type that can forgive a roguish, raffish liar, a charmer, then you'll forgive Boris. But he is absolutely the wrong person to be PM, always has been, always will be ...
He will not resign because he doesn't know what he's done wrong, doesn't think he has has done anything wrong, and some people still support him. The Tories will have to boot him out if we're to be shot of him ...

These 'parties' happened at a place of work, and I assume people were bubbled since they were working together? They were also outdoors, Boris did not organise them, although I admit attending at least one may not have been a good idea. I am getting fed up of 'Partygate' it is detracting from more important stuff going on at the moment. Should Boris resign, no, he does need to get a grip, though. Personally I am more concerned with all these leaks, someone seems to have an agenda and I doubt very much if it is for purely altruistic reasons.
Secondly I am get a bit tired of Andy Hughes's (with what seems to me) obsession with Naomi. I realise Naomi can well take care of herself, but on this thread, and the one started by Andy Hughes re. Muslims and Islam, it appears to me he goes out of his way to almost 'bully' Naomi. It is almost as if he won't be happy until she prostrates herself at his feet and admits that her opinions are wrong and he is always right.

I agree with Parsley about the ongoing spat between AH and N.
However,
"Personally I am more concerned with all these leaks, someone seems to have an agenda and I doubt very much if it is for purely altruistic reasons."
I don't think it's good to blame the whistleblower. If there's info in these leaks, then it's better that we get it, rather than others trying to muzzle the leaker.

The more Boris is attacked the more grass roots Tories will rally behind him. If the party decides to ditch him it might be to their detriment.

Have you not read about how many Tories are dreading going back to their constituents over the weekend ?
Grass roots Tories are fuming at Boris and his behaviour
They have had enough
