A letter in this morning's Telegraph:

'SIR – The parliamentary Conservative Party and its followers should be careful. A Conservative government has two main functions: to govern the country to the best of its ability, and to protect the country from the threat of socialism.

The noise from Labour, the Lib Dems and the SNP, coupled with hysteria from the BBC, ITV and Sky News, should awaken the Conservative Party to the perils of a witch-hunt of Boris Johnson.

Yes, his ability to control civil service “social” events in No 10 is unacceptable at best, but in 2024 he should still be a vote-winner, and I fail to see any other candidate who can protect the country from Jeremy Corbyn Mark 2.'

Basically what i was getting at, Naomi. Many i've spoken to in the town absolutely hated voting for the Conservatives - to some it was akin to selling their soul to the devil. But if it meant leaving the EU, then it just had to be done.

Ken, indeed. I have friends - Labour through and through - who voted for Boris for that very reason. On my advice they held their noses as they did it - but they did it nonetheless because he was the only one who promised to uphold the result of a democratic vote. Who would have trusted Corbyn to deliver? And I've never forgotten the LidDem's mantra, '*** to Brexit'. There's democracy for you!

So he told lies, all MP's and PM's do at some point, it's the nature of the beast ! He's not murdered anyone, he's not a paedo and he's kind to animals and he got Brexit done ! For me, I prefer him to any other tory MP at present and yes, it is a witch hunt and I've said that before.

I sense Boris will be around for some time yet, & as for a Labour government ? I think you too might be in for the long haul.

Silly little vox pop polls conducted by lefty journos are meaningless, the really important issue is to do with marginal seats & that does not favour Labour at the moment.
What you have to do is step back & look at the larger existential problems for Labour as outlined in here;
