They managed to win several elections so must have been seen as better than the opposition. As with all governments the public tires of them and the govt start to fall out internally and run out of steam

Not been a good period for most political parties and quite a few individual citizens & groups as well. Not to mention the HoL.

 

However at least the UK reacted decently to much of today's global problems (immigration excepted). And if they stuck Braverman in to replace Sunak they might make progress for us there too.

The main reason Brexit was blocked for so long was because of Tory MP's. Other parties voted against it for sure, but it would have sailed through under Theresa May if some of her own MP's hadn't kept voting against it.

Only when appropriate and they have a better alternative. Blocking and criticism for it's own sake is not helping the nation.

No doubt some rebels were also guilty of not accepting democracy, but on the other hand some potential deals were worse than what we have now. The problem is that we settled for a situation that screamed it'd need renegotiation on parts that were clearly not going to work, and yet that is still waiting to happen. It seems government is waiting until the demand for change goes away and that awful internal border is no longer being criticised.

Untitled; You shouldn't be too smug about a possible Labour win in the next G.E. It won't be because the public think they can form a better & more competent government, it will be because they are disenchanted with the Tories, & particularly with their recent leaders.

I want to see a Labour govt. At the moment, that's looking likely. People are sick of the Tories who've spouted nothing but austerity for most of the last 14 years, whilst a tiny minority have gotten richer and richer, at the expense of the majority. 

I want to see radical action from Labour, not just words and promises. I want to see harsh penalties for utility companies that make massive profits but never put it back into the businesses. I genuinely want to see utility companies re-nationalised, if they don't re-invest, instead giving our money to greedy shareholders.

I want to see Labour radically change the housing market to enable young people to be able to afford buying a house. It sickens me when I see the prices of some clapped out properties and estate agents asking ridiculous prices. 

I want to see job security and improved employment conditions that benefit people who are helping companies to make massive profits. 

If Labour get in power, achieving these things won't be easy and the Tory cons won't like it, but tough luck. I hope those things happen and the Labour Party remembers why it came into existence - to help working people.

It depends on if you want to see the increasing Islamification of Britain. The Tories haven't be able to stem it, and Labour sure as Hell wont because it is dependent on the Muslim vote to gain power.

The notion that Conservative voters aren't 'working people' always makes me laugh.  The vast majority of them have what they have solely because they are working people.  Labour will certainly help the non-working people by taxing those who do work to the hilt - including rubber stamping entry to this country for anyone and everyone who turns up on its shores looking for an easy life.   Remember - government money has to come from somewhere so be careful what you wish for.

All political lives, unless they are cut off in midstream at a happy juncture, end in failure, because that is the nature of politics and of human affairs.

I believe that is also true of Governments. The Conservative government of the last 14 years is spent, broken, done. It's time for a change, any change. The only viable alternatives are Labour or a hung Parliament leading to a Coalition ... and you can't vote for the latter.
