So since parliment began, its always been labour or conservatives. And frfom what i hear, they've always made a mess of it.
John Major? i think he was kicked out, when i was 3 or 4, so i don't remember him, i've heard of him, but didn't know what party he was, or if he left the coutnry in the mess.
Personally, i think there should be elections before they make a mess of the country.

You're more or less correct in that the Labour and Conservative alternate regularly.
Labour get in, spend money we haven't got, bankrupt the country and get kicked out. Conservatives get in, fix things over the next 10 or so years by which time everyone has forgotten about Labour's mess(or was too young to be affected by it) and elect them again.
So it goes, round and round.

No, it's because people are like sheep. They vote in Labour and they make a mess of things, so they vote in the Conservatives and they clear up the mess and make a different mess, so the people vote in Labour again. And so it goes on. Instead of voting for something different, they stay with the same two parties. The voting system allows this to happen. Until we get a fairer voting system, in which all votes count, nothing will change.
It's true the LibDems have never held power, but the last Liberal government lasted from 1906 till 1922, under three prime ministers: Campbell-Bannerman, Asquith and Lloyd George.
John Major won unexpectedly in 1992 but the Tories by then had become tired (all governments run out of ideas after about ten years) and there was a 'sleaze' scandal not dissimilar to the current expenses business. However, Kenneth Clarke, the then Chancellor, left the economy in reasonably good shape.
