It could happen, but I doubt it, thing is, the west shouldn't arm the rebels, because thats exactly what they are.
Unless of course the goalposts have sefinately changed, and the ultimate goal is regime change, in which case, Gaddafi has to die, along with his sons, because otherwise they'll be a constant.
The whole thing is a complete mess, and we shouldn't have got involved
What's special about selling arms to the rebels ? Russia and us like all arms suppliers has an arsenal of obsolete weapons which it wants to sell. If the rebels have the money or goods that Russia wants they will sell them.
Has anyone asked the Rebels what they're actually fighting for and/or what they represent?
Gaddafi is a nastry piece of work – there's no denying that. But what are the rebels fighting for? Removal of Gaddafi, leading to free, fair and open democratic elections or... something else?
Are we arming one set of loons to defeat another loon?
If they want to continue there fight with Gaddafi i feel they will have to.
With Russia taking a more Pro Gaddafi, is it possible we could end you with a more vietnam, 6 day war between Israel and Egypt type affair? As in 'The West' support/fund/arm one side and Russia support/fund/arm the other.
