BBC News have just announced a 2.2 earthquake in Blackpool overnight - I take it this is an April Fool? Anyone else think this is in very poor taste after the disaster in Japan???? Perhaps they should stick to spaghetti going on trees?? (For those of us old enough to remember!!!!

Come on Beeb!!!!

jack, I didn't know you live there either... (or is that your April Fool to us?)
I hope this isn't a joke. It would be in bad taste.
The news is all over the the radio, etc.....
Although I didn't feel anything here, apparently it *was* felt more over docspock's way.
Anything under 3.5 on the Richter scale is unlikely to be felt.

The thing with April fools jokes is they tend to be in one place only, if you can find the story repeated in several different news sources, as this story is, then it's a pretty safe bet it's a genuine story.
marmite flavoured vaseline - has got to be an april fool
noooo fluff. I like the taste of normal vaseline.

I'll try and C&P the info that TonyV put on the Earthquake in Blackpool thread about seismic activity in the UK
Oops.............
In reading that, I ought to have felt something. That bridge is just up the road from me !

Don't know whether Ed can combine all these threads
We do get them very occasionally I can only remember one years ago. It was quite high on the Richter scale but even that just gave a short shudder and didn't last long.
that sounds like one of my ex-boyfriends star...

Tony, if he could I'm sure he would (Now that sounds like a Simon and Garfunkel song)
ha-ha-ha lol alba - great you can joke about an important thing like that - and so early in the morning.- well early for me, I only just got up.
Emeritus - look at the the date on the article that you linked to - http://news.bbc.co.uk...d_9427000/9427892.stm - it's 19th March and thus not an April Fool joke....
thanks for the link jack (That one worked for me)

defensive sense of humour Star xx Slept in this morning and awoke with a start at 5.45
