Islamic Intolerance?

The religion of peace is at it again.
Some bible bashing Christian moron burns the Koran in Florida and thousands of Muslims in Afghanistan go completely berserk, kill several people who were unlucky enough to be 'on duty' at the UN commission in Mazar-e Sharif. Amongst those killed are a Swedish guy and a Norwegian chap – hardly representative of the USA...
I don't think it's an unreasonable question to ask: why do some followers of the Islamic faith react so aggressively, violently and murderously to the smallest perceived slight on their belief?

Killimg innocent people isnt the answer, its vile, and as you say so agressive, and increasingly common i say.
As a catholic i take lots of digs at my religion. Who gives. Its peoples opinions. No way should people get away with such violence - they must be sickmof protesting and burning ephogies and such.....its never ending x

/// It's extreme but it's not like the pastor didn't know that. And if he didn't know that then he is as ignorant as them.///
If being ignorant is the worst he can be accused of, then he can't be all that bad, at least he only burned a few pages of a book, he didn't behead anyone.
They are complete savages, and until the West does something about the rise of Islam, it will only get worse.

Compare this to say paedophile. As soon as it is mentioned, people in this country get all riled up and when in a mob there can be consequences.
There have been a few cases that spring to mind - one of a paediatrician being driven out of her home because a group of idiots didn't know the difference between a paediatrician and a paedophile and another where an Australian tourist was murdered because he was confused with a paedophile.
Mob behaviour in any society can be appalling - Lord of the Flies lives on.

// But, clearly, Jones knew bloodshed was likely somewhere in the Muslim world after he burned a Koran on March 20 at his Gainesville church.
Having seen well-known episodes of violence in response to perceived insults to the Koran, Jones believes the Islamic holy book is the root of all evil. He wanted to make his point - and he did so at the cost of human life.
Under worldwide pressure, including from President Obama, Jones backed down from a pledge to commemorate last year's 9/11 anniversary by burning a Koran. He was warned then that he would endanger U.S. troops. Now, he has committed that offense as well.
In an ideal world, the faithful of all religions would respond to sacrilege with peaceful condemnation. This is not an ideal world. This a world in which some Muslims view violent revenge as the more fitting action.
That being the unfortunate reality, freedom of speech regarding Islam and the Koran must be exercised with due responsibility - and defended to the hilt. Courage will be required.
His goal is purely to provoke violence.
True to form, in the wake of the Mazar-i-Sharif slaughter, he pronounced that "Islam is not a religion of peace."
What he did is worse than falsely crying fire in a crowded theater, the oft-cited example of freedom of speech gone haywire. He sought death - and he got it. //

Take the Islam out of it - what you've got is a mob.
History is full of angry mobs whipped up and manipulated by evil barstewards to do their dirty work.
Angry mobs thrive on ignorance, repression and lack of information and lack of education.
So you've got the manipulators (Taliban in this case) and the ignorant masses of a hick town in one of the poorest countries in the world. The reiligion was the excuse.
A bit like being a paediatrician in Paulsgrove but multiplied by 10000
