It sickens me that certain people of the religious persuasion think that the unimaginable horror experienced by the Japanese people as a result of the massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami is the work of an all powerful God. This would be the same God that religious people claim loves all mankind... except those who He chooses to kill for no obvious...
My guess is that we'll be hearing, "Well, it's his opinion and at least he's now cowed by the PC lobby".
Practically writes itself.
It's weird though isn't it...as long as you follow a hardline religious doctrine, be it Islam, COfE or Catholism, you can say anything, and claim it to be fact.
Some daft bat of a Minister (United Reform Church) wrote in the religious spot in our local freebie this month that God made the world with many dangerous regions and people shouldn't settle in these regions unless prepared to accept the consequences.
I think you will find that most religious people, of whatever persuasion, will disavow such silly comments. However, classifying all people who have a religious faith as "swivel-eyed fundamentalist religious lunatics " does not advance the anti-religious cause.
This guy certainly has form for sensationalism, but if the majority of Romans were gay then of course the Romans would have disappeared..............!!
The heterosexuals would be hard pushed ( no pun intended) to main the Romans in the environment of war and disease of their offspring.
I thought that the fall of the Roman empire was because they had a big balance of trade deficit and they depended on foreign workers to do the skilled jobs because the native Romans were too idle to get trained up.
